LoneBear’s Log
The proposed Sumai Site (grassy area in distance) with new access road. (Sumai site; looking West).
Sumai main building (on the right) and greenhouse (on the left). (Sumai site; looking West).
Sumai. Main building is 24 feet x 48 feet long, with the long axis moving away from the camera. The posts on the right side are the greenhouse area. (Sumai site; looking Northeast.)

LoneBear’s Log
Cleared out brush from field to flood area on stream. Really opens up the view! (Locust Creek, behind basketball hoop, looking North).
As you can see, there is a lot of water in the creek. Here is a shot two days after the big rain (4 inches). It’s deep. (Locust Creek, North end of future pond site, looking northeast).
And speaking of the future pond site, here it is! (Locust Creek, pond site, looking South).
The brush-hogged Greenhouse area. The south edge of the greenhouse are the two stakes that can be seen to the far right near the fir tree. Almost all of these trees need to be removed to prevent blocking the light for the greenhouse and solar panels. This area will probably develop into a rock/herb garden, contoured into the hill. (Sumai greenhouse area, looking southwest).
Here is another view of the cleaned greenhouse area looking right at the Sumai site (the stakes in the distance). (Sumai site; looking northwest).
V. removing the rotted barbed wire and old fencing, hoping her Tetanus shots are current. (Sugar Shack area; looking Northeast).
Last but not least, here is where we will be putting the new shed (sans old fence). The Sugar Shack is immediately to the left. (Sugar Shack area; looking North).

Clearing of old barn area (the trees sticking out from the right). Removed old fencing and brush hog’d scrub. (Old Barn area; North view).
This was just a huge pile of scrub brush and garbage (old tires, batteries, bits of metal). Looking pretty good now. Still need to get out the chainsaw and remove the trees that were too large for the brush hog. (Old Barn area, East view).
Started working on the road, from the bottom near the Sugar Shack, upwards. Was able to widen the lower section to 16 feet. (Access Road; East end, looking West).
Discovered something interesting … a lot of the water runoff on the roads isn’t coming from the rain, nor the direct wash from the rain, but from wet-weather seeps (seep comes in from the left). This was dry until I dug into the hill to add some width. Now water is pouring out! It appears that the water is coming UP from UNDER the road, builds pools, then flows downhill causing erosion. (Access Road; East end, looking East).
