Gary L. Bean
Director
Gary L Bean was born in the remote and wild regions of suburban northeast Ohio in 1980. The first years of his life transpired without philosophy, spirituality, religion, or really much in the way of conscious self-reflection. It was a chance encounter with the book Fingerprints of the Gods at 18 that blew apart the invisible box of inherited worldviews and values that surrounds the sleeping being. Suddenly the human story was greater and more mysterious than orthodox history allowed. Suddenly there were questions. Unbeknownst to him, his spiritual journey and the path of truth-seeking had commenced.
In January 2000, two years into a painful death and rebirth process that included leaving behind the world he once knew, because that’s how these things go, he found himself with streams of tears reading the first sessions of The Law of One material. He couldn’t at the time say why it made so much sense to him, but the deep emotional, intellectual, and visceral reaction was clear enough: he had found his philosophical home. Eventually, in an incredible evolution of events, it became a physical and spiritual home as well. In February, 2003, Carla and Jim invited Gary to join them in spiritual community and volunteer his efforts to L/L Research.
Three years later, Carla, unable to keep up with the demands of her growing organization and wanting to be freed up to focus on creative work, asked Gary to be her administrative assistant, entrusting him with the responsibilities that would soon expand to include running and representing the organization. In that role of service he found his calling, welcomed many amazing people into his heart, and continually discovered himself.
Some of the highlights of Gary’s contributions since then include collaborating with Steve E. to build L/L’s community website at Bring4th.org in 2008; learning with Austin Bridges how to self-publish and then build a system to gift L/L Research the ability to self-publish (i.e., not be reliant upon a traditional publisher); creating and publishing the biography of L/L Research and its founders in the tome Tilting at Windmills in 2015; co-leading the effort to publish the Ra Contact books along with the Unified Index in 2018; authoring the first book in the Ra Contact Resource Series, A Concept Guide, in 2020; learning how to channel Confederation sources from Carla in 2008 (tho not practicing till 2017); leading the production of L/L Research’s gatherings and events since 2005; co-leading the effort to build L/L Research’s new website launched in 2021; and learning how to meditate slightly better over the course of 20+ years.
Gary presently serves as co-director of L/L Research alongside of Austin Bridges and is charged with wearing many hats, most importantly serving everyone who finds meaning and inspiration in the Confederation’s message. He continues to support and work closely with Jim McCarty, and counts his lucky stars that he has had the profound privilege of friendship and service with Carla and Jim, of working daily with the Law of One, and of crossing paths with many beautiful, open-hearted, truth-seeking people on the planet.
At the end of the day, he is positively, most indisputably a “bozo on the bus,” as Carla said of we earnest but error-prone humans. And in the depths of his heart he is a mystic seeking oneness with the Creator, striving ever to learn what unconditional love really is through the many joys and sorrows of this world.
He loves history, reading, hiking, mountains, the national parks, adventures, meditation, his best friend and companion, Trisha Bean, their two pups, Emma Lou and Cooper, Trisha’s life-giving straight-from-heaven cooking, waking up and realizing that it’s Saturday, barefeet, occasional red wine, and getting the job done.
His personal journal chronicling the mystical-spiritual journey is available at www.spiritcomplex.com.
